Got myself one of them IPOD thingys this Chrimbo, I have to say it's rather good.
I've heard all the horror stories about the pathetic life of the IPOD battery and the horrendous cost in replacing it. You have to send it to Apple and for a silly fee they'll replace the battery and very kindly erase all your music too !![xx(]
Is this still the case ?....has anybody here enjoyed battery orientated Ipod fun ?

Hi neil, my son bought one nearly two years ago and he has had no trouble with his at all. However i have also heard the same stories as you.it probably comes down to how lucky you are. so do you feel lucky punk, do ya

I hear that the latest G5 version has addressed the battery issue. The key is to use the full range memory of the cell by running it to exhaustion frequently.
On a side note to batteries, has anyone used the ipod FM transmitters in the UK? I am using one here in Los Angeles, but its a load of pants. I think the yanks just have to have all the frequencies used; its just like the TV, 3 decent stations, and 500 crap ones.

The only experience of the IPOD FM transmitter I have was when I demonstrated a Hi Fi System and the client used his Ipod FM thingy as his source....the two were in close proximity and performed suprisingly well !!..That isolated event is the only experience I have of it. With all the small portable speaker docking systems available now I think the FM transmitter is short lived...in fact..I don't even know if it's still available.

Ariel..yep they're stored on Itunes but who wants to wait while a thousand odd tunes get's downloaded back onto the IPOD ?...I want IPOD Joy...not a whole day of IPOD ' waiting room syndrome ' [:)]
