Arachnophobia

I'm *TERRIFIED* of spiders. It's a debilitating phobia, so I was delighted to see that the Radio Times is selling a new, £39.99, '4-in-1 Pest Repeller' that, quote, "plugs into the mains and becomes part of the wiring loop in your home. It uses the wiring system to broadcast an electromagnetic wave that attacks the central nervous system of the pests. . ."
Apparently, it works on spiders, beetles, squirrels, mice, rats etc. -- but not cats and dogs -- and stops them sleeping, eating or reproducing.
I already have three plug-in things that are supposed to repel the same pests, that work by sending out high frequency sound. But a spider has used one of them as an anchor for its web!!
I've sent off for the RT thingy. Should I keep my fingers crossed that it will work?
