Sorry, just had to get this off my chest:
A certain juice company in this part of the world has decided to market a new juice that contains "50% less sugar"!. Funnily enough, it also contains "50% real fruit juice" and half the vitamin C. OH REALLY?! You didn't happen to just dilute regular juice with water to try to sell it off as a healthier alternative did you? Grrrr!
-
Of course not - who would stoop to such lowly, deceitful means of marketing to earn more money for less product? Not any company I know of - oops sorry - not any company I am do not know of. All of them would.
-
LOL LOL..
Would they really just pour water into it??
-
What's more worrying than what they are doing is that there clearly has to be enough people out there somewhere [insert non-offensive word] enough to buy the silly thing for the marketing team to judge the exercise worthwhile. Either that, or people are too lazy/incompetent to dilute their own juice.
...Aargh, why do I care?! I don't even drink juice!!
-
Lots of people drink "Squash" over here.. You get like 5 litres of drink in like 1l bottle! Just diluting it

Gives me heartburn!
-
Reflux! This reminds me of endless hours in organic and inorganic chemistry practicals praying that I would get some product and preferably without impurities.

Isn't that bad?

-
No I like the juice just have to drink it in moderation to avoid the heart burn from the loss of my gall bladder.... acidic things give me heartburn since my removal.. but in particular Orange juice in high concentrates!
Night Seany!

In the UK it has been proved that tap water is cleaner & purer than any bottled water. But people still pay £5 pounds for a 1 litre bottle of Eau de Merde.
-
I prefer tap water.. especially my own well water!

Yup.. We always drink bottled water!! My dad doesn't believe in tap water.. Quite expensive too!!
And tap water tastes a bit funny.. It has that "blood" taste to it.. Or the "iron" taste!
-
Your water tastes of BLOOD! weird.
I drink tap water but have to keep reminding myself that we now have a water softener and only one tap is drinking water. I do like badot slightly sparkly bottled water as a treat. It is great for the digestion. Perhaps we should dilute the orange concentrate with this and they will cancel each other out!!!!!!
-
Yup I think it's the English iron pipes!!
Maybe it's gone rusted or something..
Whatever tap water I drink around here, it tastes of rust!
(Blood because blood has iron in it.. and that's what it tastes like!!)
-
I know blood has iron in it, I've just never tasted it in the water. Chlorine yes, salt yes but never iron. I wonder if anyone else has aver tasted it. They are still arguing about fluoridation of water around where we live. I was taught by a Fluorine expert at UMIST and he said it was not a good idea. So perhaps bottled water in areas where they do fluorinate is a good idea. I have probably opened up another kettle of worms now.
-
Our water has lots of iron in it and who knows what else! We have a water softner, but it still tastes bad, so we spend a small fortune on bottled water.
-
If the iron concentrations are high enough you WILL taste it. Water wells that have it taste like water boiled in a rusty cast iron pot.
-
It gives me wind!
I'd love to see you parp.

There have been many times locally drinking different waters, where I would taste iron.. and it does taste like blood... Nasty water...... YUCK! many times this has happened especially for years in McKinleyville.. I always thought it was the old worn out iron pipes on the older homes... you rarely taste it anymore, but it is still there depending on where you are..

We get our water normally from an underwater spring.. it is the best water around... no iron taste just very good cold crisp clean water... Sadly right now my pump broke.. and I am on temporary city water.. I hate the chlorine taste!

I could part your hair.

Yup well that's what the water in England tastes like (tap..)
But the English people don't seem to taste it..
-
Tastes like tap water... from the city.. treated and all???
My tap water is generally untreated straight from the mountain spring.. very good water.. and is sampled every year and is a sample well as far as the stability of the well!
-
You are lucky you.. LOL
We just buy 2l bottled water..
We have like 50 bottles in the garage [:o]
-
LOL Thats a lot of recycling!
-
Yup we recycle it all
-
If you have any of the small square sided water bottle, I make air powered boats out of them and I can't get enough to fill the workshop orders.
-
Square sided bottles??? That sounds cool.. You should post a pick of the air powered boats
-
When I come back from hols, I will. It is not that exciting. My air cars are better.
-
Back to topic.. I thought most juice companies watered everything down to make a profit!

Another dose of grr:
2 minute noodle packet quoting nutritional contents per 100g (%) AFTER you make it up, as instructed, with 375mL water. When the noodles themselves only weigh 80g, all the values (energy/fat/protein/carbohydrate/sodium/etc.) are effectively a fifth of what they would be if referring to just the noodles. Dodgy.
