Whew! There can be so many different causes for "migraines," that it's certainly impossible to diagnose it over the internet, even if we were medical professionals!
Did you make any changes in lifestyle during this time or just before it? Is anything in your life causing you extra stress?
My son had "migraines" for years simply because he drank too much water (a gallon or more a day) and didn't ingest enough salt to replace that lost by sweat and urination. His "migraines" went away when he took in extra salt!! But that's NOT likely the reason for migraines in most people. (Too little water would be a more likely reason!)
Some causes of "migraines" can be very dangerous. I think you had better see a doctor right away to eliminate any of the really serious causes -- especially since you are saying they are getting worse! (Brain tumors cause bad headaches, for instance, and some grow quickly and need to be operated on right away.)
When you've eliminated any really serious causes, you can start figuring out what to do. In the meantime GO SEE A DOCTOR!!
On the other hand, for ordinary
bad
headaches, what can work remarkably well is a hot foot bath. You do it this way:
Take a big plastic pail or other large enough container that reaches at least halfway up your calves.
Stick it under the faucet of your bath tub, and fill it full of water as hot as you can stand. Put a chair near the tub and wrap yourself in a warm house coat with a towel around your head. (The object is to sweat.) Put your feet in the container and keep adding hot water to raise to temperature. Your feet and lower legs will be very red. After about 5 minutes you can rinse your feet under a bit of cold water, then put them back in the hot water. Continue keeping the water as hot as possible, and keep this up for 15 - 20 minutes. You should start to sweat. Before you quit, rinse your feet in cold water again. Dry your feet, put on some warm socks and slippers, and go straight to bed. (Don't allow your feet or any part of you to get cold.)
This avoids taking pain medication and really gets rid of bad headaches. As a bonus, it may ward off an infection as well, as the body heat activates your immune system.

What were the symptoms? I am a migraine sufferer. I've been getting them since I was six years old.

I used to get bad migraine when I was younger to the point where my Mum would have to stop me hitting my head against a table corner to get rid of the pain... I'm glad I don't get them anymore, no idea why not. My Mum has them and she takes crazy medication for it that puts her out of action for a week at a time. I think if you have just got them recently it is probably more manageable than say people who have had them all their lives like kryptonite. If you take normal pain killers and it goes away... then that isn't a migraine but more a very bad headache... it's when you can't see properly, are puking up and can't think from the pain it's a migraine. As inga mentioned there are normally triggers for migraine such as bright light... oranges and chocolate are often big ones for a lot of people. Stress again is another big factor. Most holidays my Mum can't remember because she gets excited then is in bed for the following three days [
] She has an Imigran nazel spray and some other drug that melts on the tongue... but the side effects are kind of harsh, so I doubt you want to get those. I would see a doctor if they are really bad. Plus do you wear glasses? It might be time to check out your eyes if you don't, if it gets worse at school when you are going to be reading this might be the cause.

Try putting six inch blocks under head end of bed. Works every single time! Migraine vanishes in a very short time and does not appear to come back!

I'll remember that next time I come down with a migraine at work, or whilst driving, or rollerblading, or sitting on a friend's couch.

There are now very good drugs to specifically combat migraines that didn't exist ten years ago, they can be particularly effective if they are taken ahead of the migraine if you have a warning like an "aura." Your local pharmacist can also recommend pain killers that are much more effective than ibroprofen and can also combat nausea, diclofenac for example.

Kryptonight I'll also remember it when you get a migraine and realise that the long term effects of sleeping inclined eliminate them. But you stick to your medication and get recuring episodes while I have a migraine free life
