Chris asked the Naked Scientists:
Dear Sir,
I listened with interest about your
programme
which included the discovery of iodine. When I was about 11-12 years old , I could buy iodine crystals from the local chemist and make ammonium iodide! In those days I could also buy concentrated sulphuric acid, Hydrochloride acid with no problems.

I have never seen iodine crystals on local chemists and stores. But it seems we don't have to work hard now in order to get that as every other pacakaged food or ingredient has it.

Since bulk iodine is toxic it seems odd that Cyrus thinks it's in all his food.
