Thanks for that! I knew of some of them, but there were a few I'll have to try. trouble is, I don't feel well enough to go to a shop and get anything!

he's gone out. he doesn't want to catch the cold as he's paid daily - no sick pay for him :(

he was nice this morning though, and kept asking if he could get me things, but I just wanted him to go to work and leave me alone!

Cold is the result of accumulation of viruses in our body. Natural cold remedies are many, and to find which one suits your body, you will have to know about the ingredients in detail.

Here are few of the most home remedies to cure cold that I have read on an article earlier:
1. Hot Ginger Tea - It helps you get relieved from the effects of congestion, sneezing, headache, and another related cold symptoms
2. Steam with essential oils - It also relieves congestion, it clears chocked throat, and clears the breathing passage as well. It proves to be one of the best natural cold remedies.
3. Lemon, Garlic and Honey - These are the three most beneficial herbs that are put together to prepare and effective herbal drink for figthing away cold.

And lastly, is to get heated up especially on winter season. The sudden changes in the temperature make your chest congested and your throat irritated. So the most effective way is to add more heat to the areas concerned.

Hope it helps!

Good hydration helps moisturize the lining of the nose and throat, which makes mucus easier to clear. Aim to drink more fluids than usual. But be sure to avoid caffeinated or alcoholic drinks, as they can cause dehydration.

Unfortunately once you have a cold or flu , there is little we can do apart from live through it  and try to ease our colds by hydration, staying warm but not too hot , nose aids to breathe etc.
However ,  prevention is better, washing hands regular and avoiding people with flu or colds.  Now I find one of the ways to avoid colds or flu, seemingly is unrelated but for me it seems to work.   The way is to never  let your hair get wet , i.e by rain water,  giving yourself a ''cold'' head/hair.    Don't chuck cold water on your head because you are hot.
Try it , it works for me .
