Title: Cocaine
Post by: MDriver1981 on 08/05/2009 06:56:49
I've been researching cocaine myself since college on myself, and I have found out that there is nothing wrong with it.  It alleviates boredom and expands a person's mind.

You can't see the hollow mask illusion! There's got to be something wrong! [:D]

is 'researching' the same as 'using'?

That was cannabis - as cocaine works in a very different way I've no idea if the illusion would still work.

No what I mean was, I was referring to me listening to their podcast which had cannibis as the drug (which you could not see the hollow mask illusion after smoking) instead of cocaine.

I challenge the idea that it does no harm based on the analysis of the posts of someone who claims to use it.
"I remember back during World War II the Germans experimented with a rocket-  A rocket with the serial number "00000".  That rocket, along with other rockets, were coordinated with a certain OSS man's penis.  Every time the man engaged in sex throughout war-time England, the location of the encounter would precede a V-2 rocket attack.   I will look into the matter more closely.  "

"I am a proud member of The Society of Human Nationalists(SOHN).  Our mission statement is that we do not believe in animals rights, nor do we wish to share our planet with any animals other than humans.  "
"Food sex is having sex and eating at the same time."
" I once told my mother that her sister died.  Her sister (my aunt) and I were in on the joke.  We got other people in on the joke as well.  We planned a fake funeral, and as my mother approached the casket my aunt opened her eyes and screamed at her.  It was awesome and fun!!! "

Does anyone else have any thoughts on this?

The real problems happen a few inches further back.

Had some injected into a gum a few times by a man with an insidious smile, don't make me an expert but was a numbing experience. It may also expand your nasal cavities into nasal caverns. Why do you guys have to mess around with this crap? A beautiful woman on a sun soaked beach sipping a sangria or downing a pint or two followed by a coffee and a long walk along A Majorcan sky watching stars fighting for your attention sounds a lot better to me, but this is what happens when you gain a few years, you begin to see the world in all it's amazing glory and try to open a window for others.

When was someone using cocaine as an anaesthetic?

Well, nothing wrong with it apart from impairing your mastery of the English language.  For example: "I've been researching cocaine myself since college on myself" is a pretty poor example of the English language.  This is mainly because the first 'myself' is redundant as you've already started the sentence with 'I've', which identifies you.

I'll agree that it alleviates boredom though, but I think that this is it's only real benefit.  A better solution to alleviating boredom is to find an interest in something, but yes, that's much easier said than done.

None of the recreational drugs that I've had any experience of have expanded my mind.  In fact, rather the opposite seems to apply; they narrow your field of concentration, which means that you may well go deeper in one direction, but at the expense of ignoring all other directions completely.  The result is that you may feel that you've gained a deeper insight to something, but only in an isolated context, which in the end is pretty worthless.

Most 'street' cocaine seems to be 95% glucose (or something more harmful) anyway.

At this point I think I should point out that any serious discussion of recreational drug use on a public forum is probably not a good idea.  This is not only because the majority of people will only be able to talk from personal prejudice but also because it's likely to be illegal, or interpreted as illegal by the law enforcement agencies, who in turn seem to want to extend their activity beyond just enforcing the law to actually playing a greater part in deciding what should be illegal in the first place.

It used to be that the reasons for separating the responsibilities for law making and law enforcement were universally accepted as a Good Thing(TM) for obvious reasons.  In these days though, where everyone seems to accept that they are ruled by government, rather than their governments serving them, people just want know, in their cowardly ignorance, who they can get away with persecuting.

Hmm... bit of a rant, but what the heck.

Of course, we all know that Sherlock Holmes was a fictional character...

I'm sure that AKF realises that it is infact Novocaine, also known as Procaine, which is used in dentistry. I've often heard this confusion with cocaine. It can also be confused with actors (Michealcaine) and '70s UK female comedians (Marticaine).

Sorry BC and Dent, was told as a Kid that it was Cocaine that was injected. Never heard of Novocaine, is it a derivative?

I think its' a mimic rather than a derivative.
It was designed to have the useful effect of coke (the anaesthesia) but not the toxic effects.

Cocaine causes huge harm!
just because you dont feel you have noticed anything does not mean it has not had permanent, irreversible and severe damage.

benzoylmethyl ecgonine is essentially whats called a re-uptake inhibitor of the neurotransmitters dopamine, serotonin and norepinephrine. this means in layman's terms that the body cant remove these chemicals, meaning they increase in concentration, giving the effects of 'a high'.

it causes all sorts of damage including infarction, pruritus, asthma, stroke, bronchospasms and brain damage, to name a few.

you should never use illicit drugs, they are illicit for a reason! they cause great harm and are highly addictive

Not necessarily - heavy cocaine use can trigger psychotic episodes in some I believe.

why is this thread in just chat? It's turned into a highly educational and helpful discussion. Not least in how cocaine use can lead to self-delusion...

I propose to move it, shortly, to medicine (and alter the title to a question of course!).
