Title: Why do rubber bands last longer if they are kept in the fridge?

last more when refrigerated?  Also, why does pantyhose last more if before using they get frozen?

In the case of the pantyhose, it is quite simply that being so cold it deters dirty old gits like me from groping around and snagging them!!!
