Title: Hair..
Post by: Simulated on 01/08/2007 21:44:32
I have hair on my face somewhere that I wanna get rid of. LoL. I don't now what the easiest way to get rid of it is. Plucking it (which I have been doing, but I always miss some and it takes forever.

Any suggestions?

Thanks Sim!

No No No. LoL. I do have my mostache and stuff, but I'm talking about a Uni-Brow. LoL. Its not really a big one. Its just a few dozen hairs between the two. And if I shave them it will be like a mostsoue it will keep coming back more and more and more. lol

I have to respectfully disagree with you Karen. [:)]

Ryan - Wax them!  Then trim them up.  Nic has those big bushy eyebrows and if he isn't careful, he has a unibrow too.  I can't stand it, so I insist that he either has them waxed or plucked.  He hates the plucking, so he gets them waxed and trimmed...now if I could just get him to shave everyday I would be a happy mommie!

i agree. get rid of it! my ex has one, but he gets it waxed and now he says it grows back thinner and less noticible

Oh wax them! But make sure you specify that all you want is the unibrow taken care of, Ive seen too many men these days with shaped brows... now thats yucky!

Post by: kdlynn on 02/08/2007 03:44:24
yeah. you don't want your whole eyebrow done, just the middle part... which reminds me it's been months since i spent any quality time with my tweezers..
Title: Hair..
Post by: Carolyn on 02/08/2007 04:30:33
Yes, don't get them shaped, but if they're really really bushy get them trimmed in addition to the waxing....but not too much!

depends on where you get it done.  I think the last time Nic had it done was around $5.00.

Ryan, when you get your eyebrows waxed, they take warm wax and cover the unwanted hair with it, then they take a piece of fabric and press over that, then they yank the fabric off, which takes off the wax and the unwanted hair.  It's much faster than plucking and, IMO less painful.  It does sting a little bit, but it's over quickly and you get used to it.

Karen's right, you can do it yourself rather inexpensively.  However....if you don't know what you're doing you can REALLY mess up your eyebrows and it'll look worse than a unibrow.  Most anyplace that you go get a hair cut can wax your brows.....even the wal-marts that have hair salons can do it.

The ones around my area do, but I've been WAY to chicken to get my hair cut there.

LOL - so much fuss over a bit of eyebrow.

And poor Nic, I feel sorry for the guy, having his mother tell him where he should and should not have hair.  Of all the things important in a person, I cannot see that a little too much hair is really such a bad thing (after all, I'm sure he doesn't quite look like Leonid Brezhnev.

LOL.....Oh George!  Nic doesn't like bushy eyebrows either.  Yes, I insisted in the beginning, but now, most of the time he lets me know when it's time.  I don't make him wear his hair short, he prefers it.  I don't make him shave everyday, though I really wish he would....he's only 14 but everyone thinks he's between 16 & 18, especially when he doesn't shave.

I'm really a pretty easy going mother....I even let him get his ear pierced, but I do draw the line at tattoos!

And no he doesn't look like the above picture, but his eyebrows do after about a month of letting them go.

Haha yeah I have to shave a whole bunch to and I'm still 13! I ain't ever going to pierce my ears or get a tattoo though. I cut my hair when school let out a little over 2 months ago and I didn't like it. I think from now on I'll just maintain my long hair so it looks better then a bowling ball. LoL.

I have pierced both ears and have been considering a tattoo.. I don't have a problem with them as I see them as an individual choice.. Although I would recommend one think seriously about tattoos before they choose the one they want! After all they will be permanent! I like hair.. and eyebrows thick or thin it adds character! LOL...

I went to the place and forgot to ask to get it removed, but I went mom and mom gave me something called Nair. That didn't work that well. Its already growing back. :(
Title: Hair..
Post by: Carolyn on 18/08/2007 13:20:31
Nair is a depilatory cream and is not as long lasting as waxing, though is much less painful.  Depilatory creams have high ph levels that dissolve or "melt" hair at the skin surface.

Waxing and tweezing remove the hair below the skin and lasts long longer.

Ryan, neither of these are going to be permanent.  If you don't want bushy eyebrows you're going to have either use a depilatory cream, probably twice a month (possibly more) or wax approximately once a month.

Thanks for the information! That's not a problem. How much does Waxing cost again. It is just for my hair between the eye brows.

Post by: Carolyn on 18/08/2007 13:28:53
I'm not sure what it would cost in your area, but I would guestimate that it's somewhere in the neighborhood of $5.00.  Ask BEFORE you have it done, and don't forget to tip.
