when an electric heater is turned on, and begins warming up, it has a distinctive smell. But what is the smell?
-
The one I am most aware of tends to be burning dust - but then, maybe you have a more dust free house than I.
-
Usually, singeing dust. Especially at the start of the winter season, or otherwise when the heater has not been used for some time.
Blowing the dust out before switching on (depending on the type of appliance) can reduce the smell.
-
Roast pork?
Dust is mainly shed skin cells, after all.
