and
the zits with the black are balck heads
whats al lthe other zits?

Ryan - this is from a pamphlet that came with some acne stuff I bought for my daughter.  Hope it helps answer your question.

What are plugged or clogged pores, whiteheads and blackheads?  The medical term for all of these is comedones. Comedones form inside the pore, which is the passageway from the base of the hair follicle and its attached oil gland.
The pore becomes plugged by a dead, sticky, thin layer of cells, which slough off from the inside of the pore. Instead of being eliminated naturally by the body, these sticky cells clump together, forming a plug, like a cork in a bottle.
If the surface of the pore is totally open, an open comedone is created. Open comedones are brown or gray. Contrary to popular myth, the dark color is not from dirt. It's oxidized oil and dead pigmented cells. If the surface of the pore is covered by a thin layer of skin, a whitehead (or closed comedone) forms. Whiteheads look like tiny, slightly white or pink bumps.
 What causes clogged pores (comedones)?Like other forms of acne, clogged pores, called comedones, are triggered by hormones in genetically susceptible individuals (most of us). Pore-clogging makeup and skin care products may contribute to the formation of comedones. Look for products that are noncomedogenic, meaning those that won’t clog pores, or those designed specifically for the treatment of acne and clogged pores. Excessive heat, perspiration and friction often precipitate the appearance of comedones, especially on the shoulders, back and forehead.
 

How are blackheads or whiteheads different from other forms of acne?Like other forms of acne, comedones form inside the hair follicle. Lack of inflammation is what differentiates blackheads and whiteheads from other forms of acne, like cysts, nodules and pustules.
