Title: What Is This Yellow Stuff I Saw On This Tree Today ?

Dearest Peeps Of Naked Scientist Wonderfun,

As a sheepy, I am of course a very fun-guy and so when I perchance to glance upon this abstract three dimensional rendering of a single Pollock globule fixed upon this tree I simply had to take a snap and ask ewe guys and gals if ewe know what it is ?

Nice eh ?...it's erhmmm......yellow ! (Now that is some quality defining and ewe know it !)



Any further enhancements to my already 'spot on' definition would be most welcome !! Though how ewe can improve upon my exacting standards is beyond comprehension !  [::)]

Hey Neil - I think that it MIGHT be Laetiporus sulphureus (Chicken of the Woods), which although it looks pretty awful, is actually edible. BUT - it's only idle speculation.

It gets its common name because it is supposed to taste like beef chicken.

That is a cool fungus Neil.. I have seen some very similar here but did not know what kind.. I think it is beautiful yellow color! I just bought two yellow cheery shirts and a sweater for summer! Same yellow....... nice......

I luff yellow...it's my all time favourite non green, red, orange, blue, brown orientated colour that is the same colour as ripe bananas.

besides, I enjoy fungal growth like that in my joy department !

Me too. Yellow is so cheerful and these days thats important!
I love bananas....especially with strawberries to make an ice cold smoothie! I think I will pass on the chicken fungus meal though!

By the way Neily let me politely say you do not want fungal growth in your joy department as it really deflates the joy if you know what I mean!!? LOL...

WOULD YOU JUST WOOK AT THOSE WHITTLE WED WOSY BLUSHING SHEEPY CHEEKS! LOL....Its a good thing you don't have fungal yellow growth in your joy department cause I think it would make sheepy's other cheeks quite sickly looking! LOL......
