Title: DVD Burner Does Not Detect Disc.

My DVD burner does not detect the disc, 8times discs, I want to burn to.

What can I do? Is it a software issue?

How old is the DVD drive?  If the system detects the drive ok then it's more likely to be a h/w problem with the drive - they don't seem to last for very long, in my experience - just 2-3 years before they start having problems reading disks.  Have you tried different media?
