Title: Is this a piece of petrified wood?

Looks like petrified wood to me, but I don't know much about anything... :) what kind specifically?

Looks like petrified wood from the photos. I'm guessing it's from a dead tree ;)

I heard that green petrified wood is very expensive, how much would you value this item ?
