hmm cuz i was lookinq upp an astrology compatibility website, i was just really curious about it. So i read it and it describes me and my boyfriends problem and the situations.hes a capricorn and it described exactly the kinda of person he was and im an aries and it was describing exactly how i was. I was really into it and read the whole thing and it was soo true. is this real? Should i believe the things it says?

Astrology comes up from time to time.
Most of the predictions are general enough that you really couldn't tell a big difference between Aires and Capricorn, or for that matter any other. So you might equally believe that Gemini was just exactly YOU.
In a recent discussion, someone mentioned that birth month might have a slight influence. I.E. The season you were born in, early nutritional status, and perhaps the age you were during the different seasons when you were young. It might also affect your relative age compared to other classmates in school.
Anyway, most of the predictions are more hogwash than science.
I believe birth order has been shown to have some effects too.

Probably astrology was originally a religion. As all religions do eugenics and breed their adherents toward some behavior, it is probable that they bred them according to the verisimilitude they expressed toward their astrological sign. So, if you behaved like the Taurean sign you were born in, you were preferentially allowed to breed. People who didn't behave according to their sign were probably regarded as queer, though not in the contemporary sense.

I am just amazed at how the "Ancients" were able to recognise all the major planets, and ascribe special properties to them. Realizing, of course, that they moved independently from all the other stars.
Perhaps the constellations were originally just a pneumonic to help the ancient astronomers recognize the stars they were looking at, and then became part of folklore.
Obviously religions have evolved through the ages, often adapting prominent folklore from the previous age.
Keep in mind that the ancients ascribed god-like qualities to the planets which we now consider just being hunks of rock up in the sky. So, if the second rock from the sun was considered the god of beauty. It would have little actual bearing to our modern life.
Terrestrial events, of course would have some bearing including those affecting a person's early development. But, there seems to be little actual science for the proclamations made by Astrologers.

True.
But, does that help?
The two or three "stars" you see in a city are likely all planets. Go out camping, and the number of visible stars can be quite overwhelming.

Perhaps because they had far fewer distractions and they had to make their own entertainment.

Astrologers are, without doubt, accomplished wordsmiths.
They use words, terms and phrases in such a way that the ardent believer will invariably be able to interpret them in a way that they will have meaning to them. Of course their 'get out clause' is that the horoscope you read in the press is a generalisation for that particular sign and may not be applicable to all within that date range. Even when a personal reading is given, it can be so ambiguous as to be open to interpretation.

In today's economic climate, its not a bad guess that most are subject to some financial concerns. But, I wasn't specific. So this could be interpretred as debt, what to spend your money on, will you be getting a raise this year, etc. etc.
With your mind tuned in to this, you should be able to overcome the situation.
So you take my advice and tune in to your situation. In the fullness of time, all comes up rosy. If it doesn't, then, obviously, you weren't properly tuned in to your situation. And, of course, my get out clause was the word 'should', I did not use the word 'will'.

* Cancer: July 20 to August 10
* Leo: August 10 to September 16
* Virgo: September 16 to October 30
* Libra: October 30 to November 23
* Scorpio: November 23 to November 29
* Ophiuchus: November 29 to December 17
* Sagittarius: December 17 to January 20
Now I become Libra from Scorpio :P but still I am happy to see this :)
