Title: Multiple sclerosis fungus cure

About 12 years ago I was going out with a beavette whose father suffered from MS. He had some strange fungus growing in a bowl which he made into medicine. I can't remember what it was called, but it was a disgusting looking thing - about 6-8ins (15-20cm) across & a horrible, putrid yellowy-brown colour. What I do remember, though, is that as he used 1 of these fungi another was growing beneath it; it was self-perpetuating. He reckoned he got some relief from using it.

I've looked on the net but I can't find anything about it. However, I've come across quite a few articles suggesting that MS may be caused by a fungal infection; which is something I hadn't heard before.

But my question is about the fungus my ex's dad used. Can anyone shed any light on the matter for me? Has anyone else heard of it? Is it still in use?

Iko - I'm not sure. It looks a bit too red; plus I only saw it in a bowl of water so it looked slimy too.

MS is an autoimmune disease and is treated with immunosuppressants.
Cyclosporin is an expensive immunosspressant drug derived from a particular fungus.

Your girlfriend's father may have been trying to concoct a cheaper DIY version,
