Nice aren't they ?..notice how liney and in waves the clouds are !!
Why's that then ?
I just want to know...don't ewe ?
-
Has this got anything to do with life or life forms or life processes?
What kind of curiosity is it?
-
Hmm, Neilsy, I think you took a pic of an alien waving at you with its 3 fingers!
-
LOL it is cool, but I have no idea why!
-
I am having trouble seeing the pictures clearly, but they look like cirrus clouds. What altitude would you say they were at? or failing that were they high level clouds?
-
And here is another failed attempt to know-
where have my posts gone?

THANKS TO ALL for your responses so far. Always wonderful to see Lo (Hi LO..sheesh !)
Paul...I don't think they were that high......to be honest..I wouldn't know what to say...would 1000 feet be a reasonable figure to guesstimate ?
I do hope ewe can get a chance to see the piccys properly.
-
i wish my computers would work properly :-( . an uneducated guess would be that they are too low to be cirrus, but they still look like cirrus; cirrus floccus or possibly cirrus fibratus.
this is a picture of cirrus fibratus, did they look something like that?

Similar...but these were distinct wide bands evenly spaced and of equal proportion..........not an accumulation like yours...but similar.
Would it be of any use to you if I emailed the piccys to ya Mr Cloud Paul Sir ?
-
were they equal spaced, finger like clouds that looked like a sort of giant fan made of clouds....something like lots of rockets had been set off from one place but each at a slightly different direction?
-
or feather looking?

Big fingers !!!!
-
ok, they looked like big fingers spread out. I would have to say that they were cirrus then, but them being so low is a problem.
i will have to have a think!!!
-
Paul..they might have been higher chum !!
I really couldn't tell very well...I did try jumping but couldn't reach them !!

Lake shastas is about three hours from me!

I forgot about this one...Taking a fresher look, I think they are jetstream cirrus. I know that is higher than you thought the cloud to be but thats my best guess.
