OK this is not science, but a little humour never hurts does it Paul?
Deep thoughts - funny quotes about life from children
http://www.iamnext.com/fun/deepthot.html
Kids' Deep Thoughts From an actual newspaper contest where entrants ages 4 to 15 were asked to imitate "Deep Thoughts by Jack Handey."
I believe you should live each day as if it is your last, which is why I don't have any clean laundry because, come on, who wants to wash clothes on the last day of their life?
--Age 15
Give me the strength to change the things I can, the grace to accept the things I cannot, and a great big bag of money.
--Age 13
It sure would be nice if we got a day off for the president's birthday, like they do for the queen. Of course, then we would have a lot of people voting for a candidate born on July 3 or December 26, just for the long weekends.
--Age 8
Democracy is a beautiful thing, except for that part about letting just any old yokel vote.
--Age 10
Home is where the house is.
--Age 6
For centuries, people thought the moon was made of green cheese. Then the astronauts found that the moon is really a big hard rock. That's what happens to cheese when you leave it out.
--Age 6
When I go to heaven, I want to see my grandpa again. But he better have lost the nose hair and the old-man smell.
--Age 5
I once heard the voice of God. It said "Vrrrrmmmmm." Unless it was just a lawn mower.
--Age 11
As you make your way through this hectic world of ours, set aside a few minutes each day. At the end of the year, you'll have a couple of days saved up.
--Age 7
Often, when I am reading a good book, I stop and thank my teacher. That is, I used to, until she got an unlisted number.
--Age 15
It would be terrible if the Red Cross Bloodmobile got into an accident. No, wait. That would be good because if anyone needed it, the blood would be right there.
--Age 5
Think of the biggest number you can. Now add five. Then, imagine if you had that many Twinkies. Wow, that's five more than the biggest number you could come up with!
--Age 6
The only stupid question is the one that is never asked, except maybe "Don't you think it is about time you audited my return?" or "Isn't it morally wrong to give me a warning when, in fact, I was speeding?"
--Age 15
If we could just get everyone to close his or her eyes and visualize world peace for an hour, imagine how serene and quiet it would be until the looting started.

These are great.. Thanks for posting them...
-
Allan, you have finally got it! The human brain when not restricted by adult boundaries is so free and fantastic. I think young people should rule the world before they get cynical, bitter and twisted!
-
I agree ....if kids rule then we could eat ice cream all day and not have to wash and we could do stuff...like...well..just do stuff that kids do...like....jump on beds and giggle at norty piccys !
kidz rool !!
-
Thanks guys I know this is a science based forum but a little laughter and joy from our very wise children so often brings us down to earth.
Another quote I read some time ago where a kid was asked if god could kill himself
Huh!!! "Of course he can but he wont because he is not that stupid"
Regards
Alan

Too true and thanks for thinking of me! Can I ask three questions?
1: Where is the new?
2: Where is the theory?
3: Isn't this "Just Chat"?
-
Paul just for you I will in future refrain from ever posting a topic like this again on the forum
I explained and see you noted I why I put it where I put it. You make no response other than finding fault Do yo have a sense of humour? It seems to me that you are a person bound by convention and very conservative. Of course there is absolutely nothing wrong with you being this way, just an observation Paul
"Under the chat section I felt it would not be read"
Members much senior to you such as Neilep did not respond in this negative bleak way.

Alan, In your observation you forgot "miserable git", but who's counting?
"Under the chat section I felt it would not be read"
Are you serious? Chat is the most read and most responded to section of the forum. Placing a topic in "new theories" is not wise if you want it to be read by the masses
Members much senior to you such as Neilep did not respond in this negative bleak way.
Is there a seniority in the forum? Is the reply of one person more weighty than another just depending on their post count? I hope not. Also post counts and stats carry no weigh with me, a member may post just one item, and that could quite well carry more weight than another member who has posted in the thousands. I just like neatness and order, that's all.

"Hopefully still your friend"
I have so few, that losing one is noticable.

I have refrained, until now, from replying to this thread because I thought it was not appropriate - not a theory etc..
I suppose I must be another miserable old git.
It's one of those 'cuddly kitten' topics which has its place but not here, I think.
(I will be your friend, too, Paul - you need never feel alone with a Naked Scientist around.)
I have a theory about this stuff, actually. That is, if you let kids do whatever they would like to do, they would empty the fridge, crash the car and probably burn down the house through carelessness.
Give them the vote at sixteen? A few years ago they would have voted Gary Glitter into parliament!!!
-
OK guys,
Please leave it at that I submit to the collective wisdom and take my much needed punishment and admonishment. Paul I see a naughty sense of humour lurking deep in your psyche.
These kids will rule tommorow so maybe we should listen more carefully to them
Regards

Really? Without any form of payment? I can now count my friends of the fingers of two hands! Ok, so I had that accident with the bacon slicer, but who's counting fingers...
Paul I see a naughty sense of humour lurking deep in your psyche.
No, I am a miserable git,
-
Pual,
I can count all my friend(s?) on "ONE FINGER"
Who knows maybe I will soon be able to use more

I agree with Paul - he's a miserable old git! (It takes 1 to know 1)
