Post by: Equalizzer on 13/11/2005 19:22:05
Hi.

Does anyone have any links they can give me on experiments i can do with items i find in my household stuff. i dont mean experiments like sodium bicarbonate + vinegar. i mean the big boys stuff. like. How to make your own sodium.

Thanks.

How To Make Your Own Potassium.

Ingredients Needed:

White Ash From Wood (Potassium Carbonate)
Metal Cup
Two, Thick Wires (at least 5 inches)
9 volt Battery
Heat Source (Bunsen Burner works best!)
Torch
Tongs
Kerosene

Step One: Put your white.gray ash into metal cup. Torch for about 15 seconds straight, turning the ash to a white colour.

Step Two: Turn on your Bunsen burner to full and light. Grab the metal cup and hold directly over flame with tongs.

Step Three: After the ash has become molten (may be awhile), set down. Quickly shouve two wires into the liquid. Hook the wires up to the 9vlt battery and step back. When no more silvery metal will collect around onf of the wires (or float to the top), unhook battery.

Step Four: Gather the metal and put into a small container, then cover the fillings in Kerosene. This will prevent any oxidation.

Step Five: When you want to use your potassium, take a peice out and drop into the school toilet, flush and run. AND I MEAN RUN!

10 Great High Explosive Mixtures

1)Potassium perchlorate and cane sugar
2)Sodium nitrate and sulphur flour
3)Potassium bichromate and Antimony sulfide
4)Guanidine nitrate and powdered antimony
5)Potassium permanganate and powdered sugar
6)Barium chlorate and paraffin wax
7)Sodium chlorite and aluminum powder(not sure about this one)
8)Magnesium perchlorate and cane sugar
9)Ammonium nitrate (more than 40%pure) and gasoline(VERY POWERFUL)
10)Sodium peroxide and flowers of sulphur

I would like to thank you guys for giving me the biggest laugh of my life... your knowledge of basic chemistry is truely *astounding*... keep up the good work... just a friendly warning to anyone dumb enough to try that ingenious method of *making* potassium..... DON'T
If you really want it buy some...

love the fantastic copy and paste you did from TOTSE, did it take you all day? also you didnt even bother to put ratios ? why bother? just stick to pasta and glue pictures or finger painting

make a smoke bomb 60/40 kno3/sugar... either melt them together or not it really doesnt matter. you can also use it as a rocket fuel

it does matter, and you dont melt them together you melt the sugar then add the nitrate. the reason you make it into a nitro toffee is so it burns slower due to less surface area lose powder has more space and can move toffee cant and there you have it

you cant make a perpetual motoin machine and stop preaching that bull**** book of the fool who cant just do real reasearch and get proper pyro/chem sites that offer real synths, house hold chemicals? yea if you lived in bosnia maybe 'oh could you just pick me up 4kg of Hexamine at the store is just next to the florine and the Francium'
