Hi all,
I'm Neil....me is nice to meet ewe.
I bought a ' job lot ' of Liquid paper on Ebay !1..it's well good...and even more so when I read the sensational claim in the side that it requires no thinners !!.......but it does !! *le sigh et le sulk*
Now, I am pretty sure ewe can not purchase ' thinners ' anymore over here in the UK cos kids were drinking it or something.....so...is there a substitue that I can ewes to rejuvenate my liquid paper to liquid form ?
Thanks
hugs & Shmishes

OK, here's the first question. Is it the water based version in which case getting thinners for it isn't difficult?
If not then in the past I have thinned the stuff with dichloromethane. I worked in a lab so that was easy for me. Dichloromethan is used in some paint strippers but distilling it at home is a lot more trouble than buying a new lot of liquid paper.
Since you don't seem to have anything to lose you could try whatever solvents you can get easily. Acetone, white spirit, methylated spirits or whatever.
Of course don't forget that solvents are often toxic and flammable.

THANK YOU BC....Hmmm..I'm not too sure if it water based at all ...all it says is that it contains: 1.1.1. Trichloroethane !...what ever that is [::)]
However, I suspect you are right that it may just be far less trub for me to open a new bottle....i got about 12 of them !!
Thank you very much BC.

These days, when everything is composed on word processors, who uses liquid paper any more?

Which solvents can you find in shops to remove fat stains in clothes? Here we can find Perchloroethylene (or "Tetrachloroethylene"). It's good as liquid paper thinner. But be careful not to give many brushes or you dissolve the ink you want to cover, turning the white liquide paper into dark one.

How badly do you want to know?

Sounds like you must have some very old stock - around 10 years old.
