Title: What would happen if?
Post by: Sillybugr on 23/06/2007 17:34:22
I'm currently writing some source material for a roleplaying game and I'm inventing some 'extreme spells' since this is a sword and sorcery type of game, and there are wizards etc. I want the spells to be based on real science (as much as possible, given the magical element). I'm not worried too much about the how would this be doable side of things,  but more the what would happen if... so I wondered if anyone here might be able to help me out with some hypothesising? Please forgive my convoluted science :)

One spell creates a black hole. A moon is destroyed (matter turned into energy.. magically) in order to generate the wormhole which is formed at a point somewhere in front of the caster (the caster casts a spell on himself beforehand rendering himself and his mates immune to the hole). What effects would this have on the local environment and any enemies that were standing nearby? What's the difference between a black hole and a worm hole? I thought maybe the hole would be microscopic. Would it still have an event horizon, like a black hole, and crush everything to a singularity? If so it could be used like a really extreme weapon. What sort of thing would happen?

Well no a worm hole would have another side to it(like a hose, but not a hose) that you would come out of! a Black hole has a singularity; the gravity would be so strong that you would be ripped apart as you past the event horizon!

How about death by books spell, and as the spell is cast thousands of books fall on the person!

Death by long words spell, and when cast long words come to life and eat the victim.

The flatten him with my degree spell, quite obvious I feel!

Confusion through math spell, Once cast the victims cant see anything but no.s and generally ends up walking infront of cars!

And you can have a reverse confusion with math spell and a reverse, reverse confusion with maths spell.

An I´ve been to uni spell, and when cast an entire campus falls on the victim!

A degassed water spell, and all the water in the body vaporizes!

Go talk to Edam spell, this would be the most powerful spell, and when cast A piece of Edam would appear and the victim could do and say nothing, but listen to a lecture on post-modernist furniture design and how it relates to the current geo-political and socio-ecconomic relations between the Sudan and its many friends!
