i went for an op a couple of weeks ago, and when they were putting me to sleep, the heart monitor started beeping and it said extreme tachy. what does that mean. i know it has something to do with my heart because they kept me in over night to monitor it, but they never told me exactly what was wrong.

Tachy means rapid and Tachycardia is a heart rate higher than 100 beats per minute. If they haven't discussed this with you then I doubt you have anything to worry about. A Sinus Tachycardia can be brought about from stress and fear such as that experienced by someone going for an Op.
Perhaps you should talk to your regular doctor. He can do a health check on your heart quite easily. The NHS are big on prevention of ill health now. He can also check with the hospital as to what went on.
