Good god. You guys are only yourselfs for like 12 weeks of the year?
The cure for me was a hysterectomy......and I've never been happier! []
Don't know about you ladies, but I'm always either Pre or Post PMSing. Ahh the joys of synthetic hormones []

But I haven't had regular cramping for a long time. I used to have really bad ones.. now just occasionally. Never did have terrible mood swings, mostly just got tired and iron deficient.. with an occasional nippy period.. but mostly slightly depressed and quieter then normal..Try exercise..if you get on all fours and rock forwards and back stretching it helps.. and sometimes just going for walks or light floor exercise helps a lot! I think too many women just stop moving cause it hurts.. Mine would get really bad while I was passing clots.. the cramping was worse I could feel them move down and then would pass the clot with the cramps.. It was much like labor pains after when my placenta was delivered only on a slightly lighter scale, but The cramping was worse the passing was better as they were like 1/2 golf ball sized clots.. Sorry to be so explicit.. But I had a surgery two years ago which really slowed down clotting.. although it still comes and goes.. almost back up to the old standards, but I am not worried right now..Exercise helps even if you don't feel like it!

I find the best solution to both PMS and the cramps I get during my period is a small amount of alcohol.I get very gloomy/moody before my period (less so if I get a lot of exercise but I don't have time to play a team sport regularly and hate jogging/lane swimming on my own enough that there's no way I could get myself motivated when I'm feeling down anyway).A couple of times in the last three years (since I stopped playing fairly high-level university sport) my period has come early/I've lost count of time (on both occasions when I've been quite stressed anyway for different reasons), and have got really embarassingly drunk because after having one drink I've felt so much more cheerful I've had another, and another. Which is now something I'm aware of and watch out for.I also feel better if I've had enough to eat (actually, that's true the rest of the month as well, but more noticable when I've got PMS), I tend to come in from work and fail to make supper for hours unless I have some chocolate/biscuits to hand to snack on before I start cooking.I also find a small drink works much better than ibuprofen to get rid of the stomach/back pain I get in the first two/three days of my period... sadly (or possibly fortunately for my liver) I don't think I'd last long if I were working in the lab on the strength of a stiff drink..
