Dearest Pisceanologists

As a sheepy I of course luff Mackerel !..it’s obvious isn’t it ? woolly four legged ruminant luffs oily tropical water luffing fish !....See ?..it’s blatant now that I’ve explained it to ewe eh ?.....logical, rational....sensible !...deal with it !

Derek’s a bit of a shmoozer with the girly fish which is a shame for him cos he’s gonna be my tea !..Bye Delboy !

Thing is, If I decide to delay my supper I can not wait too long because Delboy will go off much sooner than your regular non Mackerel type of fish !!

Why’s that Then ?...Why Do Mackerel Specifically Go ‘Off’ Quicker Than Other Fish ? Ewe’d think with all that oil they would in fact last longer !!


Ewe see, I just do not know !...and I need to know cos I want to know and if I subsequently know I won’t need to know anymore !

It may be that they don't go off quicker, it's just more of a problem when they do.

I think it could be that mackerel take greater offence at being eaten than most other fish and certainly hate to be kept waiting. Or, perhaps it might have something to do with their high oil content.

I always wondered why they called it a mackerel sky. It's must be because it's going to go off any minute.

Have you ever tried fly fishing for frogs?

If you hang a fly in front of them, they'll snap it up...  but as soon as you pull on the line, they spit it back out.

I wonder if different fish mouths would be different in their ability to snag a fly.  It has been a couple of years since I've been out fishing, but I believe with trout, the hook usually goes clear through the side of the mouth.
