If someone told you they are studying a biomedical science bsc degree, would you regard them as a snob or not?

"would you regard them as a snob or not?"
Only if they were being a snob.
Why do you ask?

Um. No. I might wonder if they'd wanted to be a doctor and hadn't got a university place, but that's just because several girls at my old school went to do biomedical science with a view to trying for a graduate medicine place after undergrad, because they didn't get the grades at A-level for medicine.
I can't think of any reason at all why I'd regard them as a snob! (Do explain why you'd think anyone would..?)
I might wonder why they felt they needed to specify that the degree they were studying was a BSc.. because if someone told me they were doing a degree in biomedical sciences I'd assume it was a BSc (or possibly an MSc or MPhil or PhD, but if that were the case I'd expect they'd say so).

Nope. My degree is based on the same core courses, as is biochemistry and some genetics courses. It is just labelling.

In the USA, Medicine, Law, Veterinary Science, Architecture, and Engineering, are all Graduate Degrees.
I.E. One must complete an undergraduate degree before entering medical school.
There are some basic requirements that one pretty much has to have.
1 year of Physics (Physics with Calculus not required)
1 year of Biology
2 years of Chemistry (General/Inorganic Chem & Organic Chem)
In some senses, it is easier to pick up these hard-science courses if one is getting a "Science" major. However, that isn't required. So, as long as one had the basic requirements, one could actually major in anything, Literature, History, Psychology, Biology, Foreign Language, etc.
Some schools may have a special "Pre-Med" or "General Science" degree. However, that doesn't guarantee acceptance into a medical school. And, perhaps it is better to have broader plans in case medicine doesn't work out.
In general, our society needs good doctors, as well as good scientists and other contributors.

Like bored chemist said if they were acting like a snob then I'd think they were same as if they were studying any other course. Otherwise I'd probsbly just think, 'cool' and leave it at that.

It is a common misconception that most biomeds are failed wannabe Drs. It is true to say that some universities will offer a biomed place to graduates that they like but don't quite fit the entry standard for medicine, but many biomeds want to be scientists not doctors. I certainly don't want to become a doctor [

Also, you can go on to graduate medicine with many different science degrees, biochemisty, genetics, microbiology, and all variations on those. So a biomed degree is not the only route to graduate medicine.
