White Moon, Yellow Sun
«

We all learned that the moon doesn't generate its own light like the sun, it reflects light. Now, if that's the case, why is it that during daylight hours when you can see the moon in the sky with the sun, that the color of the moon is as white as snow and not yellow from the sun?

The apparent colour of the sun and moon, as viewed from Earth's surface, depends on where they are in the sky : the closer they are to the horizon the greater the amount of earth's atmosphere the light from them has to travel through , the more
scattering of blue light occurs
and the more yellow/orange/red they appear.
An extreme example is the sun or
moon appearing red when close to the horizon
.
