Title: Which bus manufacturer was the first to introduce emergency exits

I am trying to find the history of emergency exits as found in passenger carrying vehicles (buses in particular). What was the reason for their creation (accident) and the year when it was first introduced in the world (which country)and when emergency exits were first legislated. I could not find any info on the web even after an extensive search. Ta

I can't remember seeing anything like that in the UK in the 1960's.

Leyland probably with the Atlantean dating from 1958.
