We're off to look at another little puppy doggie tomorrow with a view to taking him. He's at a rescue centre in Yorkshire (about a 3 hour drive from here).

His name is Monty and he's a 3-year-old Rottweiler x St Bernard; nearer the size of a St Bernard than a Rottie.
If we like the dog (which we will - I know it!) the rescue centre will vet us & our house to make sure everything is suitable.

The rescue centre got him the day before he was due to be put down. They've had a few people to look at him but they haven't been considered suitable. If anyone is suitable, it's Sandra & I. I've got loads of experience with big dogs - very big dogs - and Sandra has owned German Shepherds & Rotties. Plus I used to foster big, aggressive dogs for the RSPCA and make them re-homeable.
Monty looks fabulous. He's got gentle eyes.

We just took an abused stray hunting dog to the humane society yesterday. Poor thing had been abandoned, beaten and looked like it was about to drop dead from starvation at any moment. We fed her for two days, but unfortunately we couldn't keep her. Our Jack Russell Benjamin doesn't play well with others. I'm hoping she'll survive, but it doesn't look promising.
