Title: Process of EVOLUTION
Post by: pandey_23ajay on 08/03/2012 16:08:43
Process of Evolution-----------------------
===========================================

An organism is exposed to various environmental stresses, which are felt by nervous system of organism, organism generates many ways / options to counteract this stress, which are tried and tested, the easiest option is selected and tried from generation to generation. All this process leads to nervous stimulation, which produces electrical and chemical signals. Initial stimulus from nervous system creates a short term memory on genes called memory-s, minimum number of stimulus required to lead to genetic modification is called optimum stimulus number (OSN). Genes are exposed to these electrical and chemical signals from generation to generation, leading to genetic modification and finally evolution. So nervous system (electrical and chemical signals) is responsible for evolution, irrespective of level of nervous system development in various organisms.

PRACTICAL IMPORTANCE OF HYPOTHESIS-
===========================

By studying how nervous stimulation (chemical and electrical impulses) lead to gene modification and gene expression, we can treat various genetic diseases like down syndrome and parkinsons, by blocking specific nerve stimulation leading to expression of that gene for specific disease, we can prevent symptoms of genetic diseases.

170 views and no reply, is it not interesting or everybody agrees with this hypothesis.

I suppose I initially read the question on whether it was agreeing with the general hypothesis of evolution.

Re-reading the explanation that you have written, there appear to be some major flaws.

While we can consciously select adaptations to improve ourselves as individuals, we are unable to consciously select traits or genes for evolution.  Optimally, 100% of the genetic material will be passed on without error.  However, in reality, there is a small gene transcription error.

If for example, the flagellum gene is affected, those sperm that inherit better flagellum genes will be more competitive, those inheriting defective flagellum genes are less effective.

Likewise, in the struggle of life, those genetic traits that make an individual more likely to pass on one's own genes get passed on more.  Those that make the individual less competitive are less likely to be passed on.  And, thus evolution.

There is no electrical signal selection of mutations.

The effectiveness of the nervous system for the organism's niche, of course, would be a trait that would be selected for.

I don't think I can entirely agree with you, but your hypothesis may have some credence.

I would site the flying squirrels as a case in point. How did these rodents evolve that flap of skin between the fore and hind limbs, which give them the ability to glide? Many animals jump from tree to tree and some splay out their limbs to catch the wind. Without doubt those with the ability to flatten their underbelly would have an advantage, but would this necessarily lead to such an extreme evolutionary alteration without some sort of ‘feedback’ twixt body and environment?

The answer I think is yes, it is possible, but it might have taken many, many generations to achieve even a slight difference to the skin flap, however, I think it might be foolish to entirely rule out the possibility that your hypothesis just might have had something to do with this evolution.

My problem is that I can’t see many instances which might support your hypothesis, but can see a great many which support the accepted theory which Clifford pointed to. So while I would not rule out your hypothesis, I don’t think I could go so far as to give you a 25% agreement. Maybe I could go to around 5%.

Genes exposed to these signals (long term exposure from generation to generation)

The only possible grain of truth I can see in it is the above bit which sounds like epigenetics ... http://www.thenakedscientists.com/HTML/content/news-archive/news/1513/

Dear CliffordK,
once organism is exposed to various stresses from environment, it is percepted by nervous system which release chemical and electrical signals, marking a memory on genes which if exposed to similar stimuli from generation to generation leads to permanent memory and finally evolution irrespective of level of nervous system development and all this is done unconsciously.
