O.k I have been talking to a tour guide he gos around the world giving tours to places of scientific interest
Digs and temples ect
Obviously he meets many a scientist and has many stories
About for example: the guy who opens the temple for the first time and discovers inside proff that his theory is totally incorrect, and so what does this man of science do; He destroys the artifacts, how sick and tragic can you get- in the pursuit of wealth the idiot destroys history.
These men though I dont think you can really call them men, how mad must you be to do that?
He also told me about a dig in south america and to save time this ´scientist´ used dynimite to excurvate and blew up the temple in order to get to the catacombes below, totally destoyed it as he was racing against another team, In seach of fame and money he blew up a temple.
And his name will remain as now outside the temple is a sign that reads this temple was blown up by Prof ...........
I really just wonder how these men manage to look at themselves in the mirror?
I could shout and scream, but really their lives deserve nothing but pity! I pray them a long life in which they can reflect, Was it worth it?
Just thought some of you may also have stories like them, I thought you may like to share them!

Thing is, see, people who destroy the evidence aren't scienctists. More or less by definition.
Being a scientist is about a lot more than just having had a scientific training... anyone who fakes/destroys the evidence is way off. Sadly anyone can *call* themselves a scientist...
Do these very lurid stories come with any kind of coroborating detail? Like dates/places?

Well this is the thing isnt it because once the lie be done the ´scientist´ will actively try to stop people finding out!
But again that dosnt matter- they know, and have to live with it; not just the reality of what they did, but also the prospect that others will find out!

Things like that do happen , a few ago there was a scientist who reported he had produced cold fusion in a bottle however once other scientists tried to reproduce his experiment he was found out,in every walk of life you get fraudsters and liars.
By the way you could have produced better and more believable examples than those which you used ,unless you have evidence that your examples are true.

was that the guy from Korea? peer review will always spot a fake/r. this is the beauty of science.

No, it was a couple different fraudsters / fools; Fleishman and Pons (sp?).
The fact that in the Korean bloke's case as well as the cold fusion case the bad science was found out shows that the system works quite well.

Maybe but I have no desire to name and shame, they will have to live with it, why give an idiot more problems, their stupidity is enought of a punishment!
