Title: I may have found the root of a problem

There have been many instances of someone posting a reply to a message with a quote, and nothing but the quote showing up in the reply.  

Tonight I did that, and (strangely) previewed the post.  The preview showed the problem with the reply not showing up after the quote.  The quote included Neil's signature, which included color tags and a URL for a smiley.  In the edit window, I deleted the signature block and the reply worked correctly.

Something to think about and maybe experiment with.

I've deleted the smiley...hope that will rectify direct responses to my postings from now on.....but it obviously worked for such a long time !!

That's an odd one, I've not heard of that before. Might be worth having a look at the snitz site - www.snitz.com - to see if anyone else has reported this problem.

Another bug is the spacing of the original message of a thread. It messes up if someone edits it. Don't know why.

nested quotes also seem to go wrong, as evidenced by the above.

I don't know that the problem is caused by the smiley or the color tags or what.  Most of the time the quote works, but it has failed several times, for me and for others.  Usually, the poster loses their witty and intelligent response.  Usually the one that would have made everyone gasp with revelation and awe!

Those snitzes will lock my computer up if I try to use them in an email.
