Title: Colorful Rock - but what is it?

Hello,
Can anyone ID any of the inclusions/components of this rock?  It was loaned to me by a friend who thinks it's got azurite and malachite; and even I can spot the quartz (and pyrite?). I have no idea as to the origins of this piece, but would appreciate any helpful info you can provide.  There's a larger version of this image in the Rock On gallery at www.DanViolette.com

Looks to be azurite on granite (quartz, potassium feldspar, sodium feldspar, muscovite).  I dont see any malachite, but then again Im only looking at a small portion of the rock.

Lovely blue color...I like it.

Welcome to the forum.

Azurite would be my guess for the blue.  And frethack correctly identified the host rock as granite- perhaps pegmatite depending on the scale of the photo.

Azurite it is.

But being the type of business person I am I am VERY interested about where the rock came from. Myanmar is not the best place in the world to do business but copper prices are high right new.

And this is just a type of joke - Muir was right - "In wildness is the preservation of the world."

There are several known copper deposits in Myanmar (Burma).  What part of the country did the photos come from?
