Title: Why Is Ralph Left Handed ? (A Polar bear question)
Post by: neilep on 05/09/2008 14:50:07
Dear Polar-Bearologoists,

As a sheepy I am of course interested in the nature of left and right handedness !

yes I am !

See Ralph here ?

 [ Invalid Attachment ]

He's a cutey isn't he ? Wouldn't want to be a seal at his ice hole in a few years though !

Now I recently heard that most Polar bears are Left handed ?
why's that then ?..Why is there a good chance that Ralph will be doing his Polar Bear stuff in a left handed way ?...

Are there other species (except humans) which show a predominance for left or right handedness ?...Are there species that show complete ambidextrousnouss  ?(new word ! )

Let me and Ralph know will ya ?

Thanks

'Ambidexterity' might be the word you were looking for there.

I wonder if it is genetic or just because thats the way its parent taught him! so he or she may mimic the parents teachings?
