Is the world on the verge of starvation. I read where 20,000,000 people are starving world wide. We have had so many droughts in the world that many people are desperately hungry. It is alarming to me that so many people are in distress. We continue to fight wars while people starve. What is the solution to this problem? Thanks for comments. Joe L. Ogan

Since the beginning of the Civilized History, there was always the overtones related to starvation.
People migrating if it where possible, people killing when needed, to survive.
Then there is parts of the human race that practice the 7 deadly, and ignore idealism.
Time after time this question crops up and the true solution can never be reached, obviously.
So many factors that affect other factors that any attempt can never balance. It is like a wild fire die out one spot and some other spot will start up.
Since there is always going to be individuality, an overall common collective of any sort, will never prevail.
Alarming as it may be, there is no solution, and some can be argumentative, but what it boils down to opinion and it always has a welcome, fitting seat.

A little further research leads me to believe that it is not so much a matter of food shortage but it is more related to the fact that there are no jobs for a lot of people. If there are no jobs, the people will not have the money to buy things to eat. That is a terrible thing to me to think about people not having the necessary where withal to buy food. Thanks for comments. Joe L. Ogan

Back to the 7 deadly. The economy is Governed by greed, the short supply of jobs and the skills to carry them out. The expense of an item has More then doubled since the turn of the Century. Why ?
Supply and demand can be manipulated by availability! An illusion or not, it still is part of the trend.
Available jobs, can be contributed to the Government exercising benefits to the companies to send
the jobs elsewhere. Every event has always a ripple affect.
War provides jobs, distasteful as it seems, it is a fact.
Someone creates an idea and it is engineered then built. From raw materials to the manufacturing shipping yard to the user. Then someone is needed to clean up the mess. This senerio is full of jobs!
When it comes down to survival, man has learned to adapt!
This drive is not job dependent, as we think of a job for pay!
Desperate times, seeks desperate measures! When opportunity strikes, the starving will take advantage, and this driving force Rides close along with the force of Love.
If a choice between a 100 dollars and no available food to purchase or the lone apple I think the starving will take the apple. I'll Work For Food!
Pick a differnt spot in the world like Haiti, before the Quake, a mixture of lack of jobs, education, at one end on the other end greed and other things sets the tone for poverty.
It is a messed up World, when you look at a broader spectrum of events too.
So, you are right but there is more to it that is not documented.
Just to have the opportunity to be a fly on the wall and listen to private talks of CEOs and other high officials, it will turn your stomach! Both friend and foe share these same traits! "Absolute Power corrupts, absolutly!" There is always one for each in charge!
