Two Great Films show an era long gone.
A Yank in the RAF (1941)
A Yank at Oxford (1938)
"Say, those Englanders don't play our kind of football, do they?"

And, naturally, both portray the UK in a totally realistic way. Well, Hollywood would never settle for less than 100% historical accuracy, n'est-ce pas?
For instance, "Battle of the Bulge", "Pearl Harbour" & "U-571" are much closer to the truth than what really happened.

Bridge over the River Kwai was filmed after the WW2 and Burma Railway built by the PoWs
as they'd called it "the forgotten war"
It's interesting to find out more about this since John Mills, I think was fighting in Japan.

Rosalind Franklin was my first cousin and one my life's main regrets is that I never met this brilliant and beautiful lady.
She discovered the Single DNA Helix in 1953, then it was taken by Wilkins without her knowledge or agreeement.

Has anyone seen Kokoda? I highly recommend it. Very good war movie about the ANZAC defense of the Kokoda track running through Papua New Guinea from Japanese forces
