I have looked at the latest Google Chrome browser's information thing
only I would be interested to know if anyone has either used it or tried it out.
Also if you have used the Google Chrome browser is it any faster than the
ordinary Google search engine, which Rosalind uses all the time.

I think time will tell, but it seems quick, sleek and easy to use. Seems happy with every site I've thrown at it so far.

I will have a few more looks at the new Google Chrome browser before finally deciding what to do.

On Thursday evening I had downloaded Google Chrome onto my PC but it wouldn't let me open my emails or get onto TNS or other forums only the normal IE/Google browswer did.
So this morning I've removed it.

I downloaded it a day after the release date to avoid the 'rush' and so far the experience been pretty good.
My Only Issues:
-Every time I visit my Hotmail account, the site keeps prompting me to update to the latest versions of IE, Firefox, Opera, et cetera. (I click to continue loading anyway and everything works just fine.)
-It seems to have an issue with sites using Flash and some streaming multi-media formats. However, 99% of the problems resolved themselves after 2 days without me doing anything.
-On a couple of pages I've visited, Chrome mysteriously decided to grab a good chunk of my CPU resources and it took forever for the page to finish downloading.
-Most of the other popular browsers use a standard general layout and so I find myself habitually looking for icons and "File... Edit... View... et cetera" menu options that are no longer there.
Firefox is currently my #1 choice for browsers, but Chrome has a good chance of bumping it to #2 pretty easily.

I think I'll stick with Firefox & Opera for now. I know those 2 browsers inside out and Chrome doesn't seem to offer anything different. I don't believe in change for change's sake.
I'll keep Chrome on the PC, though, as I need to check my website layouts in as many different browsers as possible. It does, so far, seem quite standards-compliant - certainly more so than IE.

I will stay with IE7 because I can't get on with Google Chrome asking me to repeatedly sign back into my email account or the hotmail one.
I removed Opera as I couldn't get on with the brightness.
But I'll use Firefox when I can't get the site on IE7 that I
am searching for then save the site address.

Nice looking yeah but in fact there are some pages it does not display proberly!

now open it in Ie or firefox notice the difference !
Well it is still in the beta stages
as with all alternitive browsers microsoft update doesent work with it although there are ways and means round this

When I've used Google Chrome on IE which I prefer to other browsers then I get shown my recent browsing history rather than the blank Google page that I have for my homepage

I had used it, but i do not think as it is very good & efficient till now and i will remain Safari and Flock.

I have tried Google Chrome's browsers, a few times only
I don't like being shown my own "history" as I open the browser.
It is an affront to my privacy of choices.
I prefer to use the present ordinary Google and it seems to find sites faster for me.
Firefox, I can live with or without it. IE is my main/only choice of preference

I have Chrome on my machine but only use it occasionally, One of my chief uses for a browser is to access my bank accounts via EGG and this only works with IE6/8 or Microsoft outlook

I agree and as I have mentioned previously that it looks untidy when Google Chrome starts up showing your previous history and in my case most of them.
I have not used the sites for ages.
If anyone knows how to delete them from the front/home page there, I'd be grateful to find out how.

It is fun to use Google chrome but not necessarily better. My hotmail doesn't work fine with it. And about the speed I think Mozilla is faster. I would suggest everyone to try it out.

I am currently using Google Chrome 24/7! Well not quite literally, but I have never touched Internet Explorer.
For 1, I think it's a lot quicker. And the menus are easier to use, and the homepage with the 9 panels, for a history of 9 sites listed in order of most viewed.
2. The search engine can be used just by typing into the address bar (without the http or www) and it will go to which ever search engine you chose. (whether it be google or yahoo or whatever)
3. The menus look nicer [;D]

Tried it, it's buggy and also intruding.
They try to give you too much 'services' in it.
But then again, I'm old fashioned :)
A browser is a browser, not a 'carwash'.

I don't seem to find any services on it. Like what exactly?
Not that many bugs.. Way less buggy than IE.

I tried Google Chrome for a few weeks but found it much slower than IE also for most of my websites, well it wouldn't accept them and like Seany said that it won't accept my hotmail account but IE does.
It shows everything that I've looked at over the last month which is a bit infuriating sometimes.
But it does seem to keep out more computer viruses/bugs etc.

That is a clearly optimistic review.
But interesting all the same.
It's just me that's somewhat pessimistic perhaps?

Btw: Seany, I refuse to use Microsoft Explorer.
If you're using Windows I recommend using Firefox and a third party firewall (ZoneAlarm.)
But that craves some knowledge from the user, as when to say yes or no.
Most people just clicks on 'Ok', right:)
Also one should take a look on what one allows other software/users to do.
Go to 'start' 'settings' 'controlpanel' and check there out every thing that rests inside 'system' as well as in your 'windows firewall' and 'security center' and the settings for your 'network'.
Ask yourself if you really need all those 'updates' too.
Read up on them before you download them.
Take the control of Windows, use your mind and 'goggle':)
When doing so Windows can be quite Ok.

Beta versions for Linux and Mac have just been released and I'm just trying out the Linux version now. It's a bit weird, compared with what I'm used to, but it does seem quite fast. Still got to see how well it handles Java, Real & Flash though.

I have downloaded but rarely use Google Chrome browser except
when I have to do some free-lance Anti-Piracy work for my brother's publishing company.
Other than that I mainly use Firefox because I think that's got an in-built firewall although I might be wrong.
Or IE8 although I've got a good secure VirginMedia PC Guard
which is also my AV, Anti-Spyware, Popupblocker and Identity Theft Protection. Along with the Windows updates all daily.

Google Chrome has been my personal favorite, My Firefox crashes very often so i shifted to Chrome. Its really cool and fast surfing :D

I rarely use Google chrome now in favour of Firefox because it's
got its own in-built Firewall along with the AV, Firewalls and other stuff I have. Doesn't crash my computer either.

I've reinstalled Chrome again for a another try and in my opinion on my computer it just does not seem to operate as efficiently as Google says it should. I have retuned to firefox and yet still come across some sites that won't work/display correctly unless IE is used. One thing I do find with Firefox is that quite often...when ewe think it has closed down...it's still running !!...opening up Task Manager and it's still there !!...This happens when ewe restart Firefox and I get the message that it's already running !!..weird eh ?..does anybody else experience that ?

Yes Neil that happens to me when I shut down properly but I've accidentally closed a Firefox browser that I was using then it reappears, Weird. So I do close every browser now before shutting
down it's a nuisance.
I don't trust IE8 anymore so I hardly ever use that browser now.

I'm currently using chrome on this pc because IE kept crashing. It seems OK but then again, I'm not asking it to do anything complicated. The favourites transfered across OK. The only bit that bugged me was the spell check which defaults to incorrect English, and that's easily fixed.

I agree there specially when I had to keep on using my dictionary instead of spellchecking with US English other than UK English.
Also IE8 produced viruses luckily I've plenty of AV protection

I have Google Chrome, Firefox and IE8 on my computer. Google Chrome is my favourite as it is quicker. I don't use Firefox much as I don't like having to wait to see downloads - it lists everything first! I may well use Firefox if I want to keep referring to the same download though.

That's why I've made Firefox as my default browser because
it's got in-built firewalls along with the other AV+ stuff I have

I had been using it since the Linux versions were released back at the beginning of December 2009 but I've found there's no way to set a limit on the amount of stuff it caches and that, together with a few other lacking controls i.e. cookie retention etc, I've just dropped it and gone back to a firefox derivative.

Lee I keep on using the Firefox Add-on updates but the cautious
woman I am, I check them out first loads. Better to be totally
sure I think.
I've never used a Linux PC.

I use Firefox only.
Chrome "felt" slower than firefox, and a bit more buggy and it took longer to load a web-page, I had to set up some things after installing because it gaves some errors 00005x0, and so on. I was very glad to uninstall it.

yes sure google Chrome is the best browser, when i first downloaded it, my internet was running at a lighting speed, i even

But the only one advantage with firefox is that it has more add ons, which makes things much easier
