Title: Does POIS affect women?
Post by: aviendha on 13/03/2010 04:34:54
Are there any other women out there who believe they might be suffering from POIS?

I had never been able to orgasm, no matter what position, with a partner or just masturbating, but I recently have been able to achieve this by using Durex Play O and a "Jack Rabbit".

I never really thought about the fact that it might have made me tired, as I only ever masturbated at night before sleep. However, earlier today I thought I would have a session, and now I feel really weird. I fell asleep straight after, but it was like a sleep when you have a fever, strange dreams, drifting between consiousness and sleep. I tried to get out of bed and the effort of even lifting my head resulted in insanely strong palpitations. In the half lucid state I was in, I thought I might have been dying.

When I managed to drag myself up, I could barely walk straight and my head was full of fog. Now, a few ours later, I have a pounding headache, I am shaking and my head is still thick and I feel confused. (It took me ages to even figure out how to register to ask this question).

Now that I think about it, since I have started reaching orgasm, I am oversleeping, I have been constantly late to work, missing trains etc. I have also been much more moody, but I had put this down to coming off my anti-depressants.

All the recent info I can find only seems to relate to men having this pois. Does it occur often in women, and does anyone else experience these symptoms after orgasm for any reason other than pois? I feel like I've been hit by a truck, and the information I've read also appears to indicate that these symptoms are going to last for days. I work in a fairly high pressure job, and can't afford to be all foggy and all over the place like this.

Is there anything I can do? Please help!!! I was so sure I'd never experience a proper orgasm, and now to find that it could impact on my daily functioning is really worrying me (or again, I suppose, it could just be the shaking I am doing :-S)

Any thoughts, advice, tips, experiences??

Thanks xx

Hello,
I think that I have this symptoms since 23 years old. Now I have 45 years old. I see in the article of Dr. Waldinger that POIS is a illness only of men, but i think with the experience in my life that the women have this problem too. I have grateful that this problem is studding also in the women, because we need to be happy in our sexual life...If other women have this symptoms too, please write in this forum, because this is a way to help the doctors to discover the treatment, also to the women.
Thank for all that are interesting in this great illness that affect several people.

You know what, maybe all of this POIS is a way that we have evolved to stop overpopulating the planet. As people can't seem to help themselves and make a decision not to have kids maybe this is a good thing although I feel for the people who suffer from it.  It really does sound horrible!

I have POIS. I got tests done showing I have a gene variation of the MTHFR gene. There are many variations of this gene and subtypes of this gene that make people more prone to depression bipolar schizophrenia, and physical illness. Mental and physical being inherently linked. The way people that have a variation of this gene process nutrition is different then others. One great example of this is the B vitamin folate. This vitamin when ingested cannot be used as is but the body actually must turn it into an active form. Without this vitamin in the active form your body cannot make neurotransmitters. Folic acid is a man made substance that mimics folate, but its not the same so less of folic acid actually ever becomes active folate and usable by your body, and for people with this gene variation, 30+% of the population, folic acid is arguably absolutely useless. People with this variation are living breathing proof that the way we live is not effective for health and happiness, we are all the indicators that demand for change. I also had tests done showing differences in my nervous system, the nervous system can affect the entire body is every and any way, and plays a large role in an orgasm. What I have is a slow and suppressed parasympathetic nervous system, this is this the part of the nervous system that is known for bring the body to a relaxed state, where healing is more possible. This nervous system is known as for, rest and digest/feed and breed, while the sympathetic nervous system, mine being very strong in known for, fight or flight. those are just sayings theres more to it that I don't know, i suggest look it up if you want to know more. So basically that sets the foundation for why this condition can exists as we all know it does. ******With nutrition this condition as well as all conditions can be gradually relieved and eventually put into remission. Along with understanding the nature of sexuality and how hyper sexuality is real and that its sad because yes it feels good, just like any drug that makes you feel good. But there is so much more to life that feels so much better and lasts forever, and we can open our selves to that and stop being slaves to sexuality. sex is not the only way to get closer to a partner as well, which some might argue why its good. relationships are heart to heart mind to mind, and in terms of fitting in your doing something much better then that. there's to many people why would you want to risk have more let alone see that child suffer greatly in this world. But really combination this  nutrtion, giving your body what it needs to come back to balance and put the condition into remission, as well as spiritual journey to reaching for your higher self through things like energy healing, active and still mediation, breathing exercises, yoga, and active spiritual growth, or like putting effort into strenthing your mind body and soul. all this stuff is what it takes.
