Is "FEELING" the meaning of life?
Any veiws[:)]
Donna
-
Why do people feel there needs to be a meaning is a better question? [:D]
wOw the world spins?
-
Maybe it's because life matters[:)]
Donna
-
Does it? Why? [:D]
wOw the world spins?
-
I'd say forget about worrying about the meaning of life, we only get one of them so get out and live it! [;)]
-
Does life have to have meaning? And if it has meaning, who decides what that meaning is? And why would it matter?
"Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you will find one at the end of each of your arms." - Audrey Hepburn

there is no point in life exept to LIVE [:D]
eat, sleep, work, play(f*ck)and do it over an over again
-
Life is the sweetest contradiction, nothing really matters.
But one things for sure "Life" is worth living[:p]

Life is.. well.. life is what YOU make it to be. Its how you CHOOSE to live your life that makes things MATTER. Live everyday and enjoy life as much as you can.. and HOW only YOU can!
-
When life is based on "feelings":example the feeling of "love"...starts with the thoughts (either based on a truth or lie) that inspire the body to release chemicals in the brain...
Do we care if something is based on what is TRUE...
or do we BELIEVE something to be true... without TESTING AND EVALUATING..(The Whole Reasoning Behind SCIENCE)!?
(YES)I believe Jesus' is the only Truth that could save me...and God IS.. the creator(and can fully give us true answers if Our Minds aren't Clouded with PRESET IDEAS or RELIGIOUS mindsets...God doesn't mind if we are curious about the "whos, whats, whens, wheres, and whys")
Truth in Science just PROVES that God Does exist!(God was the first and best SCIENTIST!)
A CREATION SCIENTIST I THOUGHT WAS INTERESTING( Kent Holman)...Dr.Dino.com?
..He says he will debate anybody...I would like to hear that conversation.
He seems to come from a FACTual scientific APPROACH and gives a Lot of explanations for some questions I had on evolution, and why it (evolution) is a religion...because it takes blind FAITH to believe in it as a theology.
(by the way I DON'T BELIEVE IN "CHURCH" the institution[xx(]- or the building)I love the people...but it drives more people away from God... THE UNKNOWN GOD...of the Bible....
Sometimes I wonder if God will stay UNKNOWN...if we don't show agape(God's Love)...for one another.Even the "good news"is bad news...from what most people see...GET REAL PEOPLE!
(I hope I didn't offend some people searching [:0]and I hope I did offend people who say they KNOW GOD!)[}:)]

Meaning of life? You are here. Learn to live with others. Know that you will die. But before you do, try to feel some things: laugh, cry, love, anger, melancholia, humility, disdain, remorse, elation, etc. Try not to hurt others with carelessness. Feel what it's like to make someone else happy. Learn to use your self will to make you a better person. Learn to understand that life is about many things, most of them not human. Most of all, remember. Remember the good and the bad of your life and the lives of those before you, and do not repeat their mistakes. It is generally understood that we have an obligation to evolve. Failure to evolve is as bad as living backwards (which, funnily enough, is spelled "evil"). And evolve doesn't mean accelerate human growth, it means understanding your part in everything around you, with the air, with the water, with the sky, with the animals and plants, and dropping that self-centered ego that human is the be all and end all of creation.
Mothra is the only god I ever saw come to the aid of its followers. Says a lot about gods, doesn't it.

The cold truth and meaning for me is to: be born, grow, reproduce (asexually would be neat [:D] just bud another one/millions of me off), possibly contribute something useful to society and then die (preferably in my sleep, or whilst flying into the Sun or something equally dramatic)... doesn't sound all that glamorous, but hey! "I am" is all the justification for existing I need [:D]
wOw the world spins?

That is probably the most simple question ever I think. I would find it hard to answer if I didn't believe in God... But I do!
The whole human race was not exactly created for a particular purpose. What we are supposed to do is make the decision whether or not to accept God or reject him. If we accept him then we get eternal life.... if not then well hell! I would advise you all to accept.
mmm hi!

Found these, and think they're really cool:
Rule One - You will receive a body. Whether you love it or hate it, it's yours for life, so accept it. What counts is what's inside.
Rule Two - You will be presented with lessons. Life is a constant learning experience, which every day provides opportunities for you to learn more. These lessons specific to you, and learning them 'is the key to discovering and fulfilling the meaning and relevance of your own life'.
Rule Three - There are no mistakes, only lessons. Your development towards wisdom is a process of experimentation, trial and error, so it's inevitable things will not always go to plan or turn out how you'd want. Compassion is the remedy for harsh judgement - of ourselves and others. Forgiveness is not only divine - it's also 'the act of erasing an emotional debt'. Behaving ethically, with integrity, and with humour - especially the ability to laugh at yourself and your own mishaps - are central to the perspective that 'mistakes' are simply lessons we must learn.
Rule Four - The lesson is repeated until learned. Lessons repeat until learned. What manifest as problems and challenges, irritations and frustrations are more lessons - they will repeat until you see them as such and learn from them. Your own awareness and your ability to change are requisites of executing this rule. Also fundamental is the acceptance that you are not a victim of fate or circumstance - 'causality' must be acknowledged; that is to say: things happen to you because of how you are and what you do. To blame anyone or anything else for your misfortunes is an escape and a denial; you yourself are responsible for you, and what happens to you. Patience is required - change doesn't happen overnight, so give change time to happen.
Rule Five - Learning does not end. While you are alive there are always lessons to be learned. Surrender to the 'rhythm of life', don't struggle against it. Commit to the process of constant learning and change - be humble enough to always acknowledge your own weaknesses, and be flexible enough to adapt from what you may be accustomed to, because rigidity will deny you the freedom of new possibilities.
Rule Six - "There" is no better than "here". The other side of the hill may be greener than your own, but being there is not the key to endless happiness. Be grateful for and enjoy what you have, and where you are on your journey. Appreciate the abundance of what's good in your life, rather than measure and amass things that do not actually lead to happiness. Living in the present helps you attain peace.
Rule Seven - Others are only mirrors of you. You love or hate something about another person according to what love or hate about yourself. Be tolerant; accept others as they are, and strive for clarity of self-awareness; strive to truly understand and have an objective perception of your own self, your thoughts and feelings. Negative experiences are opportunities to heal the wounds that you carry. Support others, and by doing so you support yourself. Where you are unable to support others it is a sign that you are not adequately attending to your own needs.
Rule Eight - What you make of your life is up to you. You have all the tools and resources you need. What you do with them is up to you. Take responsibility for yourself. Learn to let go when you cannot change things. Don't get angry about things - bitter memories clutter your mind. Courage resides in all of us - use it when you need to do what's right for you. We all possess a strong natural power and adventurous spirit, which you should draw on to embrace what lies ahead.
Rule Nine - Your answers lie inside of you. Trust your instincts and your innermost feelings, whether you hear them as a little voice or a flash of inspiration. Listen to feelings as well as sounds. Look, listen, and trust. Draw on your natural inspiration.
Rule Ten - You will forget all this at birth. We are all born with all of these capabilities - our early experiences lead us into a physical world, away from our spiritual selves, so that we become doubtful, cynical and lacking belief and confidence. The ten Rules are not commandments, they are universal truths that apply to us all. When you lose your way, call upon them. Have faith in the strength of your spirit. Aspire to be wise - wisdom the ultimate path of your life, and it knows no limits other than those you impose on yourself.

Chimera,
Those rules make a lot of sense to me.
Buddhist?
Humanist?
Jedi????
Nah pop no style, a strictly roots!

First came across those a couple of years ago in a book on anger management, which said they were anonymous.
Found them on the net later, too, with a few claimants, but I guess they really are anonymous. As to the source, no idea, probably buddhist by the sound of it, although I like your Jedi suggestion a lot, too. [:)]
