Title: Are green leaves better at carbon sequestration than flowers?

Patrick Williamson asked the Naked Scientists:
   
To improve the conversion of carbon dioxide and have cleaner soil, could we rip up all the coloured flowers and flower beds and replace them with trees because they are presumably far more efficient at photosynthesis because they have more green leaves?

What do you think?

I think per cubic meter, algae are the fastest in carbon sequestering
