Pain is a defence mechanism yes ?..it serves to make us aware of a danger to the body right ?


So, what is the point of being ticklish ?....To defend ewe from having your toes tickled by a feather ?



I don't know....do ewe ?

I wonder if being ticklish is related to a more general flinch reflex which could be part of multiple survival skills.

However, tickling and teasing is part of human social rituals.  Many animals also seem to play games with each other.  And, for example "wrestling" that is often done with young of many species might be part of important hunting and defense skills.
