BBC:
The next few nights offer you a great chance to witness the demise of a comet that could be making its last ever swoop past Earth.
Comet 73P/Schwassmann-Wachmann 3 orbits the Sun and Jupiter every 5.4 years but has been disintegrating for at least a decade. The largest fragments are bright in the night sky until 14 May.

Now the comet is in more than 60 pieces, astronomers are unsure it can survive another close approach to the Sun without burning up completely.
