Prince asked the Naked Scientists:
Hi Chris,
My name is Prince. I try and listen in on your shows (http://www.thenakedscientists.com/HTML/podcasts/) on Talk Radio 702 whenever I possible can. I learn a lot!
I am a 25 year old male. I sweat excessively on my hands ands feet (be it cold or hot)Â and as a result I feel very uncomfortable shaking hands with people. I did a small research on the internet and came across an article on Hyperhidrosis.
No one I know of in the family who has a similar symptom.
I would like to know if this can be treated and what medical specialist I would need to see for a diagnosis.
I look forward to your response.
Kind regards,
Prince
What do you think?

Are you sweating all the time? Or only in certain social situations?
Personally, I think that shaking hands is over-used in our society. And, does carry risk of disease transmission which would outweigh social comfort.
