Title: Why do we have one standard for doping in sports and another for technology?

Dan asked the Naked Scientists:
   If  say McLaren F1 motor sport racing team invented a super new engine valve that made the car engine 20% faster and more efficient and a tyre that has  15% more grip than any opponent on the circuit.that's OK but if an athlete  takes an enhancement drug to improve his performance its wrong ! and just to clarify why all F1 cars look similar is because all new technology is copied!
 I don't understand the double standards used in sports
