Title: How Do We Know How Long A Plastic Bag Takes To Decompose ?

Dearest Plastic-Bag-Ologists...

As a sheepy I of course hate plastic bags......Yep,hating plastic bags is all I think about.....though...I use them and recycle them all the time.

Look, here is one in all it's majestic wonder as it cavorts playfully amongst the coral reef !

A Plastic Bag Jelly Fish In All It's Glory


I heard that a plastic bag takes about 300-500 years to decompose...now..as far as I know plastic bags were not invented in the 18th century so How Is It Known That A Plastic Bag Takes That Long To Decompose ?

Would the above jelly fish plastic bag take a lot lot longer to decompose ?
