Title: Why do men grow hairs inside their ears when they get older?

Why do men grow abundant numbers of hairs inside their ears when they get older. It's bad enough going deaf for other reasons, let alone having one's ears clogged up.

I reckon that you don't grow less hair as you get older, it just redistributes to places other than the top of your head.

Perhaps it's an evolutionary trait of nature to help stop one hearing the partner or wife nagging? I presume women don't develop hairy ear canals?
