Title: Does the colour of my pens affect my exam performance?
Post by: Geoffrey Hunt on 06/03/2010 04:30:02
Geoffrey Hunt  asked the Naked Scientists:

Dear Chris

I have a question (may be a trivial question).

I want to know if I write my study notes in a different colour pen to the one I write my test with, is there a chance I will do worse in the test than if I used the same colour for both?

Has there been any studies/research about this?

Regards,

What do you think?

I hear itt's important to try to replicate study conditions while you take an exam.
So if you chew gum while studying, chew gum while taking the exam.. etc
following this using the same pen, not just the same colour. might be advantageous...
