Something I was just thinking about; if particles get their mass from the Higgs field, could the law of conservation of mass be violated by manipulating the interaction particles have with it?
EDIT:
Another interesting question, if this statement was true, could you accelerate particles beyond the speed of light by accelerating them inside of a device that weakens the interaction with the Higgs field to make the particle have a lighter mass than a photon?
