Can't answer the question about stairs but as for the other question......
I prefer mine medium rare and smothered in grilled onions. [;D]

If you've ever tried to climb up rocks, and climb down rocks, you'll know its easier to climb up them.
Climbing up may need physical strength, but you don't have as many problems balancing (and its not as hard on the knees) as you have when going down.
-
They're scared of heights. Going up the stairs, you don't realise how high you are going until you turn around and look down.
This is the reason cows don't make good steeplejacks or mountaineers.

Actually, in the highly mountainous areas of West Texas there are cattle that do go down steep inclines and I mean steep. They are wild cattle - feral, actually - that evolved from the longhorn cattle that roamed free out there at one time. these have developed small hindquarters and large fore-quarters, just like buffalo, and can run up steep slopes as well as down slope. When I say steep, I am talking 45° or steeper.

That sounds a bit like the haggis

Hmm, I've seen cattle walking downhill, on moderate slopes at least. But let's say television advertising speaks truth...*cough cough*...would we not find all cattle stuck on the tops of mountains and the like?
-
No, they're very good skiers [;D]
-
They are also champion snow boarders and surfers.

As in "Surf n Turf"? [:D]

Damn, reading the title, I thought you meant the plants of daisy flower...
