Oh, no, I'm sure you could. All you need is any type of blood and a filler (meat, fat, suet, bread, sweet potato, barley, oatmeal).

BUT,   eeeeeeewwwwwwwwwwwwwww...    [xx(]  [V] [xx(]  [V]

You could but you would have to get a lot of women to donate. Although it sometimes feels like a major hemerage you don't actually pass much blood during an average period. You would need a lot to make one black pudding.

Since black pudding is blood with some cereals, herbs and seasoning, I don't see why not.

But I don't think there would be a great market for such a delicacy. I like black pudding especially a good Scottish pudding with some haggis and topped off with fried eggs. I suppose the advantage would be, it's already got an egg in it...... But just the idea, well(https://www.thenakedscientists.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.freesmileys.org%2Fsmileys%2Fsick029.gif&hash=aa76f31d783a9c23d1e70fdb554b7f89) (http://www.freesmileys.org)

[Magnus] Pyke rose to prominence as a young food researcher working for the wartime Minister of Food, Frederick Marquis, 1st Earl of Woolton. Even then, he was known to be eccentric. It is said that, in an effort to cope with the problem of blood donation outstripping local storage for blood transfusion, Pyke suggested using the excess human blood to make black pudding.

Kuru (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kuru_(disease)) was spread by the endocannibalistic funeral practices of the Fore. Family members were ritualistically cooked and eaten following their death, with the closest female relatives and children usually consuming the brain, which was the most infectious organ. The women scooped the brain tissue out with their bare hands and did not subsequently wash them for weeks. During this time, they were handling, caring for, and possibly infecting their young children.

Ignoring the  yuck factor (which isn't easy) there seem to be a few problems. The practicallity of obtaining enough starting material is one. The fact that shed endometrial lining isn't actually blood is another and the fact that canabalism is an excellent way to spread parasites is a third.

In his book The Fearful Void, about crossing the Sahara on camel-back, Geoffrey Moorhouse describes how the Mauretanians would open a vein on the camel's neck and tap off a little blood for culinary purposes - now there's a thought. [:I]

Leona Lewis seemed to have that problem in her first hit single which was about her boyfriend that kept opening up her veins in order to get her love out or for some such reason. I'm not sure what it was called but boy did she milk it!
