I'm super cleaning the house right now since summer is here and I'm really bored since the only people I talk to are still in school and it needs done. So, I've always wondered if its better to sweep or mop first. Thanks.

Sweep before mop I think. Otherwise you'll get all the little bits caught in the wet mop and be mopping a slurry back and forth over the floor. For the question in the title, dust before sweep...or you'll have to sweep again the extra dust you've just added to the floor.

Oh, and can you do my place while you're at it? :P

Butt if you sweep last woudln't it put my dust back into the air that will land on the surfaces? Ha. And Nah I'd rather not. Ha. I hate dustingg.

Dust the surfaces and furniture first then sweep your floors then wash them. Good luck

Sim that is fine. Now photos please when you've done it? LOL

Well, here's the problem. I had most of it done, 20 different ways, before I even posted this, that's what sparked my curiosity.

Ryan.. you dust everything from top to bottom, then you can use a big dust mop to with some spay pledge or what have you lightly sprayed on to the dust mop.. then you gather all the dust and debris up into a pile and sweep it into a dustpan.. this prevents the dust blow up that a broom causes... save your broom for tight spots after you have removed the dust and kept it from your lungs... etc.. then you sweep up mostly mostly nothing but you only use the broom for corners where the mop won't get and the pile from the dust mop. The dampness picks up the dust and dirt and the dust mop acts like a filter to protect you from the dust! Then mop as usual.. Be sure after you sweep up the dust from the dust mop that you take the mop outside away from the shut door and shake it.. remove the mop head and deposit it into your washer for a good wash before you put it back on the head!.. Voile done and clean...YAYYYYYYYYYY!

The best way to get the cleaning done is to wait till someone else feels motivated to do it first.
Then I cook them a nice dinner and we're quits!
